About This Passage
These three sentences hold a sad truth and a small comfort at the same time. The first sentence is the hardest fact (Bianca did not come back). The second sentence tells us why (she chose bravery for the people she loved). The third sentence is the small comfort — that people we lose can still be part of our lives, in the way they were when they were alive. Notice how the writer uses short sentences for the hard parts. Short sentences carry weight that long sentences sometimes hide.
