Discussion Questions

Narration Prompt

Tell someone what happens in this chapter in order. When you get to the most important part, slow down and tell it carefully — what happened, why it mattered, and what you think about it.

Discussion Questions

  1. Hiccup is small for a Viking, and the other boys make fun of him for it. Is being small something you should be ASHAMED of, or just something you ARE? What in the story makes you think so?
  2. Hiccup uses his MIND when other boys would use their FISTS. Is one of these better than the other, or are they just different ways of solving problems? Which one would help you more in school?
