Alone after her kindness to Becky, Sara works out what it really means to be a princess. She cannot give riches, but she realizes she can still 'invent little things to do for people', small acts of kindness like the cake and the promised story she has just given Becky. With this thought she quietly redefines greatness: it is not wealth or rank, but generosity within one's reach.
